Soul Tuner

Every time he closed his eyes he could hear a hum. The song of every soul in the universe being sung out at once. He tuned his inner ear and focused on one.

It didn’t always jump out right away, but when he had found it he could turn it up and make it stronger. It came naturally to him now, but it had taken a great deal of discipline and mental control to get here. To be able to hear the soul who needed him the most, the soul whose song was playing out of tune.

A solid string formed in the air in front of him, one he could touch. With a great deal of focus and concentration he tuned it and somewhere in the world a lonely soul remembered how to smile.
